What’s #ProjectBliss?

Youth MOVE Broward organized this past Saturday, January 7, 2017 a day of wellness to educate young people about practical and easy tools they can utilize to get well, feel better, and/or maintain their wellness. The FREE event, entitled #ProjectBliss, had a series of activities like yoga, music, vendor tables with nutrition/ holistic info, self-love workshop, and art for young people.

Project Bliss stemmed from the collective voice of the youth to have more outdoor activities, to learn more about alternative treatments to stay well, and to have fun as well. To make this event a reality, they applied for a grant, called Dare to Dream America through Youth M.O.V.E. National.

Dare to Dream America was coordinated by youth and designed for youth, who were interested in making your peers and community more aware of mental health challenges and decreasing the stigma that is typically associated with them.

The Youth M.O.V.E. Broward leadership team felt that putting together such an event was important to the community because young people are hesitant to seek traditional services and want to have alternatives for mental and behavioral health disorders. They prioritized this project based on the lack of natural and holistic options in the community, and/or unaffordable holistic and natural options.
